Flying High......We did it

We did it! Third time lucky.

We jumped for a nurse for Lewis-Manning Hospice Care. Big shout out to Fiona Harwood and her husband who came out both days to support us and keep us going whilst we waited to jump.

It was the most amazing experience, terrifying and exhilarating in equal measure.

I can't describe the feeling of edging your legs out of the plane at 10,000 ft. – the most terrified I've ever felt. Before I knew it, I was leaning forward out of the plane and free falling.

I made myself open my eyes, it's so weird seeing the ground below whilst you're rushing through the air towards it. It was noisy, cold, scary and thrilling.

Then the parachute opened and it was suddenly so calm and quiet.

Next thing my instructor was pointing out Baker and Jarrah who were spinning round and round and upside down – they both had the more enthusiastic (nutters) instructors strapped to them. I am so grateful to my instructor, who made my descent calm and enjoyable – it was like floating.

We slid into a really smooth landing and then I was trying to stand up – I felt like bambi – shaking from the adrenalin rush.

I am so proud of my sons, Baker and Jarrah for doing this with me and raising money for a fantastic charity, Lewis Manning.
