Co-owner and Director

Frances has 40 years’ experience in recruitment, gained in Hertfordshire, London, Australia and New Zealand before she settled in Poole, Dorset, in 1999.

As co-owner of Jobshop, Frances leads the team while remaining closely involved in the business. Her work ranges from senior recruitment and supporting organisations through change to contracts, tenders, finance and payroll. She can also be found at various networking and community events, so no two days are ever quite the same.

Frances has experience of running both large and small recruitment contracts and working with organisations across the private and public sectors. She particularly enjoys helping clients who know they need someone but aren’t entirely sure who. She loves asking questions, shaping the role and finding a solution that works for both the organisation and the person joining it.

“Even after all these years, I genuinely love what I do. I still enjoy getting involved with senior and more complex roles, and I’m always interested in how organisations are responding to change—including the growing influence of AI on jobs and hiring.”

Looking after the Jobshop team is equally important to Frances.

“I want the team to feel happy, supported and able to do their best work. We support one another and laugh a lot. Recruitment can be stressful and unpredictable, so retaining our sense of humour is essential.”

Frances is a Fellow of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and a registered Motivational Maps practitioner. Providing a personal and friendly service remains one of her greatest motivators, alongside solving problems and helping clients and candidates see possibilities they may not have considered.

Outside Jobshop, Frances helps organise the Dorset Directors’ Lunches, is a trustee of the Poole Museum Foundation and supports a variety of local charity and community initiatives.

At home, Frances and her partner share the general chaos and enjoyment of family life, with four adult (kids), two cats and a dog.
