We will tell you honestly what work we have and whether it matches your availability, experience and expectations. The more flexibility you have about the length, hours and location of an assignment, the more opportunities may be available, but we will never put you forward without discussing the role with you first.

Registering for temporary work

We will talk through your experience, availability and the type of work you would consider. Before an assignment, we must complete the relevant registration and compliance checks.
* Evidence of your right to work in the UK. The documents or online check needed depend on your circumstances.
* Proof of identity and address where required.
* A minimum of two years of references, or your last two employers where you have remained in those roles for a longer period. Some assignments may require additional checks.
* Skills testing where relevant to the role.

Skills testing

We can test different areas of Microsoft Office and have access to tests covering more than 900 applications and skill sets, including workplace behaviours. Testing helps us understand your current level and provide clients with relevant evidence; it is not intended to catch you out.

Before an assignment

If you are interested in an assignment, we will discuss it with you before sending your CV and Jobshop profile to the client. The client may want to meet you in person or by video. If you are successful, we will confirm the pay, hours, location, reporting details, assignment information and what you need to know before starting.

Pay holiday and support

* Weekly in-house payroll, normally paying you the week after the work is completed and approved.
* 28 days’ paid holiday inclusive of bank holidays, calculated pro rata. Holiday entitlement accrues according to the applicable rules and your working pattern.

The hourly rate reflects the responsibilities, skills and market rate for that particular assignment. It is not a judgement on the full range of experience you may have built during your career.

Your first day

* Read the assignment information and check your route or login details in advance.
* Aim to arrive or connect a few minutes early, without arriving so early that the team is not ready for you.
* Ask about dress, technology, mobile phones, internet use and other workplace expectations rather than making assumptions.
* Take notes, ask sensible questions and remember that you are not expected to know everything immediately.
* Stay out of workplace gossip and respect confidentiality.
* If you are unwell or delayed, contact Jobshop as soon as possible using the instructions in your handbook.
