Bournemouth based recruitment specialists, Jobshop UK, welcomed Mark D’Arcy of Herb UK to the first Director’s lunch of 2018, held at The West Hants Club, where Jobshop has recently become a business partner.

During his talk, Mark talked passionately about how Herb UK’s vision is to be the world’s most organic and natural hair company. Currently, through its headquarters in Lymington - where all products are produced - and its American offices in Rhode Island and Las Vegas, Herb UK supplies to over 40 countries across the globe through the brands; Organic Colour Systems, and Tints of Nature.

Mark said:“When I first joined Herb UK, I needed to address issues such as high absences, an unproductive and disorganised factory, and low staff morale; all of which were just the start.

I realised that a ground up approach was required in order to improve employeemorale and engagement, and so I set about putting into place simple processes, inclusion, and organisation at a reduction in cost – all in order to achieve the long-term goal of ensuring Herb UK becomes a world class operation, which, it is well on its way to being.  In 2009, the company filled/packed 1.6 million units, andthis year we are on track to fill/pack 3.2 million units with a 42% reduction in costs.

“Having made outstanding progress in the last few years, and with another year of expected growth of 15%, it’s Herb UK’s mission to manufacture and market ever more natural and organic products through sourcing the finest ingredients, employing dedicated and like-minded people, and providing our customers with a safer, more natural alternative.”

Tracey Wood, Director of Jobshop UK, commented:“It was fascinating to listen to Mark talk about his story with Herb UK, and what has inspired him to achieve such success professionally.  We all found him to be a very warm, engaging and charming speaker who was very open about what has driven him from a personal point of view.

“With popularity for the lunches continually increasing, we are delighted to now be holding our Director’s Lunches at The West Hants Club.  The next Jobshop UK Director’s Lunch will be held on 16th May where Edwin Bessant, CEO Ceuta Group will be the guest speaker.”
