Introducing Jobshop UK's newest recruits!

Helen and Laurence - Jobshop UK
11 Jul 2017

Spring and Summer are often referred to as a time of growth and change, and this couldn't be more true for Jobshop UK! We have welcomed two new members of staff to our team in the last month, and we'd now like to introduce you to them properly. Helen and Laurence are both joining us as Recruitment Consultants looking after our Permanent Division.

Introducing Helen

Helen has 6 years recruitment experience, starting in the childcare sector and now with Jobshop UK.

Helen says; “Having spent 4 seasons overseas, running and overseeing Children’s Clubs for a Holiday Company, I returned to the UK and joined a Recruitment Agency in Bournemouth, specialising in childcare. During my time with them, I covered both the pemanent and temporary desks working with candidates and clients in the Dorset and Hampshire areas. Now part of the Jobshop UK team, I am looking forward to working with a variety of experienced candidates and getting to know our Clients better and supporting them with all their recruitment needs.”

Helen prides herself on understanding her client and candidate’s indivdual needs and requirements and always getting the best outcome for them. She loves the satisfying feeling of placing a candidate into their perfect role, and says “Their reactions of pride and happiness are so worthwhile!”

When she isn’t helping clients find their dream candidates, Helen loves to travel and has been fortunate enough to visit and explore New Zealand, New York, San Francisco, Boston and parts of Europe.

Introducing Laurence

Laurence previously spent 10 years as a Police Officer, but has been working in recruitment for the past 3 years. He says; “With exposure to both Public and Private sectors, I have the ability to understand commercial pressures of local business and the potential budget restraints of both, with the ability to empathise and solve their respective Recruitment needs. Working as a Recruitment Consultant allows me to work closely with people which is something I am passionate about, and as demonstrated in my past career as a Police Officer recruitment also allows me to have a positive impact on people’s lives.”

Laurence believes he has a strong ability to nurture relationships both client side and with candidates. He also has a strong interest in local, national and international business and how they may have an effect on the market, which he feels helps him to solve problems for clients and candidates by appreciating what they are trying to achieve in line with the current economic climate. When asked what he was most looking forward to within his new role, Laurence said “Getting to know existing Jobshop clients and bringing new clients on board…exciting times ahead!”

When he isn’t at work, Laurence really enjoys watching, playing and coaching Rugby, and enjoys taking part in a number of races each year for various charities.
