We are all so proud of Helen for not only managing to complete the full Bournemouth Marathon - a staggerig 26.2 miles - in just 4 hours, 40 minutes and 34 seconds, but also for raising a fantastic £1,113 for Montacute School. Knocking an astonishing 30-40 mimutes off her estimated time, Helen found miles 20-23 really hard when she 'hit a bit of a wall,' but, as soon as she got to miles 24 miles the adrenaline kicked in for the last 2.2 miles to the finish line. Jobshop UK directors, Frances Miles and Tracey Wood were waiting for Helen at the finish line, along with Karon Nougher, fundraising coordinator at Montacute School, and of coiurse, Helen's proud husband.
Montacute school for children with special needs is Jobshop UK's lifetime charity and whom Helen was running to raise funds for.
Helen said: "It was a fantastic day and having everyone along the route to cheer me on really helped keep me going. Seeing Karon, Tracey and Frances, and of course, my husband, at the finish line tipped me over the edge and I burst into tears; exhausted, but on cloud nine knowing I have raised this money for the children of Montacute School. The money raised will go towards Montacute's mud kitchen for the Forest School area."
