    Category Manager - Retail/FMCG SALARY: Salary negotiable

    Primary Function:

    To support the business to drive the brand sales through translation of marketing strategy into trade marketing activity in National Accounts, Convenience, Grocery, Health Food and Pharmacy. This role will analyse, discuss, present and work with Directors, marketers and support teams.

    Client Specific Key Responsibilities:

    • Proactively work with the client and travel when required
    • Lead the client relationship in all discussions
    • Key contact for all Client requirements
    • Develop Joint Business plans
    • Achieve and maintain key business objectives as agreed by the client and brands
    • Preparation and participation in client review meetings / conference calls
    • Responsibility over cycle preparation and presentation at cycle meetings
    • Forecasting, including annual budget planning, stock level monitoring and monthly client S&OP teleconference.
    • Relaunching the Potters SKUs which are due to come back to stock in 2018
    • Launching NPD as advised by the client; ensuring that launch rationale, timings and support are translated into best presentations for the National Account Managers
    • Sales reporting, including creation and ongoing management, month end sales and stock reports and pricing input management
    • Finance management, including invoicing, recharge handling and pricing set up control
    • Working with the Logistics Team to ensure 100% supply
    • To carry out any other reasonable task or tasks in connection with the job function, as requested by the Client Manager

    Trade Specific Responsibilities:

    • Work with National Account Managers to develop category solutions and strategic brand and trade plans for each account
    • Liaising with National Sales on all aspects of sales management
    • Analysing sales to identify specific trade customer and channel issues and opportunities
    • Lead trade meetings
    • Co-ordinate and influence range review processes
    • Manage partnership marketing activities with each account
    • Manage design, production and implementation of POSM materials
    • Manage ad hoc merchandising, Consumer research, in-store Consumer activity (e.g. sampling campaigns), other trade marketing activities
    • Ensure sales force have brand information to manage the accounts - Customer presentations including: pricing documents, competitor analysis, category solutions, sales updates, promotional plans.
    • Other trade marketing responsibilities, including retailer management, design of promotional materials, online supplier management and trade event management

    Knowledge & Skills base:

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience within FMCG
    • Experience in Health and Beauty
    • Understanding of category management and core ranging principles
    • Exposure in dealing with national and key accounts
    • Conversant with IRI/Nielsen Market Data
    • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office package
    • Strong analytical skills

    o Sales and Trade Marketing experience in National Accounts

    o Knowledge of consumer marketing principles

    o Understanding strategy and how to translate it into activities

    o The ability to execute plans to drive forward Equazen, Potters Herbal and other small brands within the portfolio

    o Flexibility to go to Customer meetings and Client meetings as required

    o Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow up quickly is essential

    o Previous experience in a similar role is desirable

    This is a Full time permanent role Monday to Friday based in Bournemouth.

    The salary will be DOE but around £29-30k

    Strong benefits include: 3.5% pension contribution, 4 x life insurance, 25 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays.
