    Assistant Accountant SALARY: £20,000 - £21,000 Per Annum

    My client are a well established SME based in the centre of Bournemouth.

    They are looking for someone to join their small, diverse team to look after the Accounts function for the business.

    You will be proficient in the following -

    Undertake monthly and weekly payrolls for temporary and permanent staff

    Administer HMRC submission, monthly and quarterly reporting, (PAYE, Intermediary reports, pension, information reports Contractual Obligation - Crown Commercial Service MI Collection)

    Collect, compile and enter payroll data using appropriate software

    Review and verify source documents

    Calculate and post payroll deductions, issue statements of earnings and deductions, reconcile employee deductions

    Process payroll by established deadlines

    Investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors

    Address employee's pay-related concerns and provide accurate payroll information

    Maintain Purchase, Sales and Nominal Ledgers, using Sage 50 Accounts, balance accounts

    Carrying out BACs payments, purchase ledger payment runs

    Petty cash administration

    Undertake reconciliations of Bank, Nominal and Ledger Accounts

    Oversee MER reporting to bank

    Undertake VAT returns

    Preparing weekly profit reports

    Dealing with financial paperwork and filing

    Giving administrative support to accountants

    Prepare monthly reports

    Overview credit control

    Checking customer's credit situation

    Ensure that debts are paid in a timely manner

    Dealing with internal queries about payments, ensuring customers pay on time and negotiating re-payment plans

    Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed time-scales

    Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtedness

    Send out monthly/ bi- weekly client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time
